15-17 February, 2002 - Camp
Hale, CO
We have an overnight camping trip every month
and for February, it was the big Klondoree of
200l. The scouts concentrated on Winter
Camping and staying warm, we hit 26.2 degrees
below zero, but due to Scout preparation not one
boy or adult went home early due to the cold.
Also, last year we had special guests from the 10th
Mtn Division, 3 F-16s fly over, the High
Altitude Helicopter Crew from Eagle, Special
Forces, Rangers, and Green Beret men, a cannon,
and members of the press, highlighted by the
staff of Boys Life who may write an
article on the event. The event concentrated on
five basic ingredients for a successful outing:
Fun, Leadership, Teamwork, Participation, and
Communication and lets have another fun
memorable event, and enjoy the wonderful
opportunity we have to camp at such a historic
place. We always obey the Scout Oath and
Law.
